Putting together a new website has been a good project for right now. We are all forced to hit ⏸ so I’ve been reflecting on where I find myself in my career and where I want to be. It’s a great feeling to look around and realize I love all the things I’m doing and to imagine a path forward! 🙌 This idea helps me stay away from the dark side: when we get to make music together again we will have a new appreciation for what we do and so will audiences. It is going to be magical! 💖
In the last few years a lot of pieces have fallen into place for my career and I’m getting close to that sweet spot. I had anxiety about adding motherhood to the mix. I was so afraid people would stop calling me for gigs. That didn’t happen! (Many thanks to @calliopebrass
for following through on your promise to support me as a musician and mother ❤️) If anything, motherhood has made choices more clear and has forced me to take better care of myself so I can be there for my family. *
The new website has also kept my mind on positive things as I sift through videos and recordings: playing with Calliope, bringing down the house with King Street Big Band and my students beautiful singing voices! *
If you’re putting together a website, #1
tip is to find a photographer you love. @sam_interrante
did a fantastic job and his work makes the whole site come together. Many thanks also to @karen.cubides 👸 for keeping me on track and @hanssmucker for helping with all things video/domain/proof reading. ❤️❤️❤️ *
Looking forward to sharing it with you soon!
