CLOSE YOUR EYES and feel my touch. We got a blind massage a few days ago and it really opened our eyes (no pun intended). The world of the blind is a dark one both figuratively and literally, yet these masseuses were some of the friendliest and seemingly happiest people we have encountered in Vietnam. They were laughing and bantering together particularly as one rearranged Tom’s spine.
We left feeling physically invigorated and also incredibly grateful to have something most of us who can see take for granted. The world is a beautiful place and the thought of not being able to see it, especially as travelers, is a sobering thought.
