Earlier this month Jupiter entered Capricorn, crowding up a busy sign where Venus, Saturn + Pluto are already at work. Capricorn is serious, disciplined, all work. It's prudent, practical, cautious, responsible, shrewd, and w/ an epic work ethic. Capricorn is the skeletal system of things, the framework, and it rules the body's own knees, joints, and bones. Cap is the sign of civil servants, carpenters, contractors, engineers, sculptors. And, Capricorn knows how to build the strongest foundations.
Jupiter is often astrologically summed up as a type of grand Oprah Winfrey in the sky, bestowing gifts and improvements on everything it touches. I've no doubt a case study of lottery winners would reveal notable aspects between Jupiter (good luck, beneficial circumstances, optimism, good fortune) and Uranus (shocking change, startling disruption). But generally, to gain Jupiter's gifts, the planet of faith, philosophy, and values asks us to plant and tend seeds over time. Jupiter benefits us most when we work on the areas of our lives where we overindulge. If we can bring those into balance, then the areas that we've let atrophy can begin to expand and benefit from nourishment.
Jupiter in Capricorn, after its year-long transit of Sagittarius where it was at homr, can feel like a bit of a buzz-kill. But actually, the progress we make with Jupiter in Cap is steady, measured, realistic. And, with Jupiter traveling in the same sign as Pluto & Saturn (gulp), it can lend big, positive change in the long run.
All eyes are on Cap this next month & year, with the Pluto Saturn transits, conjunction and the Cancer/Capricorn eclipse set continuing from its start in 2018 and finally culminating in July 2020.
Saturn will pristinely waltz into Aquarius in March of '20, but will retrograde back into Cap until Dec. '20. That means we will get a taste of the themes and narratives Saturn will unfold over the 2.5 yrs that it will spend in Aquarius, ruler of the 11th house and the sign of eccentricity, innovation, commuinity, big picture, activism.
But first, we have a nice Gemini full moon tomorrow in communicative Gemini. After that, hang on. It's about to get super interesting.
