Since I discovered the revolution of Self Love freshman year of college (2013) - I’ve dedicated my life to teaching others how to love themselves in a world that’s never taught us how to do so.
I helped start a self love movement with @barenakedjmu
at JMU that’s spread to 2 universities & hundreds of students. Over the years I’ve put in countless hours to create positive and transformative posts, blogs, events, fundraisers, videos, and poems.
As I turn 25 next month, I continue to face the painful battles of my childhood, my mind, and my heart. I’ve taken huge risks and faced so much change and heartbreak since graduating. The struggles of my journey still wash the shores of my soul and attempt to drown the immense growth I’ve accomplished. I have yet to overcome this constant feeling of unworthiness.
After tonight I’m taking a break from social media, my freelance work & other projects to reorient my time and energy to myself. I’m still struggling to be happy, deep down. I need myself, and maybe I haven’t been wanting to admit that.
Thank you to my friends and followers who have truly supported me and my journey through loving myself and healing. I only hope I’ve helped you along your own journey, that you’ve been opened up to the power of love in some way because of what I share here. It is time for me to step away and try to give myself the love I so freely give to others.
