Living life on your own terms👸.
One of the hardest parts of being a human is having ownership, holding yourself accountable, & having discipline.
I understand not everyone is able to go to therapy. But if you can, go to therapy, & allow yourself to heal, grow, & live!
The first step towards living life on your own terms is committing 100% that you are tired of the way something is.
The basic things that I do almost every day that pushes me to work towards my goals:
➡️Stare at the mirror & give yourself a pep talk! Be your own coach or envision someone you admire talking to you. I always envision The Rock talking to me when shit goes bad.
➡️Acknowledge my strengths. Celebrate yo' self!
➡️Acknowledge my weaknesses & tell myself that we all have them. Be kind to yourself!
➡️Write what you want, anywhere I can. Any type of art is good!
➡️Write myself letters to my future self. #OldSchool
➡️Ask for help: friends, a professional, find a mentor, family, etc.
➡️Live by example. Don't say "I try to do this." Either DO or DO NOT! There's no try or maybe.
➡️Listen to yourself & others! But don't let others influence what your gut is telling you. Your gut is connected to your entire body, & it sends signals to your brain. Listen to it.
➡️Challenge yourself & challenge others. Remember that you don't learn anything in your comfort zone!
➡️Keep life simple. Why? You (& I) are too complex already, so don't try to complicate life.
➡️Look at yourself as if you were looking at the 5 year-old version of yourself. Be nice! Encourage this version to live life, work hard, & never settle!
We have the gift of life, decorate it how you want it, & be true to who you are.
Never settle for anything less than you deserve.
Put in the work. Be happy.
