In December 1800, Jane Austen's father decided to retire, leading to the family moving from their longtime home to Bath. Following her father's death, eventually, Jane, her beloved only sister, and their widowed mother moved to a Hampshire house, gifted to them by one of Jane's brothers, and there, Jane wrote or revised all of her now famous novels. Seen here, is a depiction of that Hampshire home, as painted by the project artist for our book series, the first book of which, “Literature’s Living Room: At Home with England’s Classic Novelists,” is reduced in price by 20% through the holidays on Amazon USA.
