*** LONG POST***
I'm tired of THE church... I didn't say I was tired of God, or #Jesus
, or showing #Christian #love
to people... I am SICK AND TIRED of what the church has become. No power, no #accountability
, no #unity
, no love. It has become nothing but a #PopularityContest
, gathering place for #cliques
, a competition of skills and talents, a place where drama runs with reckless abandon.
People pattern after the head #Pastor
, dressing like them, acting like them, driving what they're driving, etc. It's sad, because we are 'blessed' when you look like the Pastor, but not so when you are yourself... I'm a PGK, and I have been in church all 31 years of my life. And an active church musician for 21 years, and I have grown EXTREMELY tired of #manipulation
consume our churches all in the name of "Jesus". See money magnify other issues like #greed and #lust
Me personally... I have been used, taken advantage of, then when tired or depleted, get thrown out and discarded... People would call me gifted, anointed, or powerful, some would say you're a future preacher, Pastor, or Bishop, the #COGIC cats would call me "Mand-of-God", but they'd do all that FAKE jazz, so I can 'serve' and help them fulfill their vision, while I constantly struggle and fight to just see the shadow of my vision... But as long as I was playing that #HammondOrgan, or on those keys, everything is all good. Nobody cared about my soul, my tough times, my family, my struggles, or my health... But only seemed to be inclined and interested only in my musical ability.
Today's churches have become an #AmusementPark open on Sundays... You get to see your friends or peers, you get good music, and sometimes good message... But there's no power, there's no change or positive development in the people, there's no conviction on doing what's right, no impact in the community... And you know something, even though that 6 year old boy expressed his #honest feelings... I guarantee you that boy in the video got a whoopen, for the simple fact that he talked about the church... I could go on, but I'm not... I think you get the idea! Sunday is the most divided day of the week, and it needs to change!
