All aboard! Last call for “Hear the Whistle Blow! Art of the Railway.” 🚂
Sat Dec 7 is the last day of this incredibly diverse, educational, and significant #railwayart
exhibit. Come see! We’re open 10-4.
This one-of-a-kind #exhibition
of #railroad #fineart
paintings, drawings and etchings, features original art showing the diverse aspects of railroad subject matter as seen over the decades through the artist's creative eye.
Guest curators #JackDykstra
have gathered more than 40 works from nationally collected living and deceased artists, private collections and museums. Images shown span from nostalgic to contemporary, illustrating a remarkable collision of art with the industrial revolution.
From the early steam era to today’s highly technical railroading, artists have been captivated by the dynamics of railroads for over 170 years. Adding to the viewer experience are select displays of historic railroad artifacts related to the art.
With our mission to preserve and display the art of #GlacierNationalPark
and the region, it is fitting that the Hockaday Museum of Art host this special exhibit.
A few pieces of art are still available for sale, a perfect gift for the railway aficionado in your life!
