Demonstration table at De La Salle College, Dundalk.
I've just finished a project with second year art students.
I've worked with the students over the last few weeks as they worked with nature, explored the potential of ink painting, experimented with mark making & painted with twigs, feathers & many other found objects.
The students created in response to music, visualisation and meditation and the energy was calm, relaxed and focused.
I wasn't sure how a classroom of 15 year old boys would respond to what we did but they were fully involved, open and creative.
It was a joy to work with them.
The students said what they enjoyed most, was the freedom to be creative and have fun.
They made beautiful pieces full of texture, movement and depth.
I'm delighted to have been involved in this project and I am looking forward to introducing it to other students and schools.
The project was part of the DesignSkills programme for the Junior cycle organised by @dccoiedu
