In training sessions there are common questions that I get asked and when my gorgeous and talented client
@aubreymakeup_ asked “what’s more important, finishing a set or keeping proper form?..... I feel like the mentality is ‘no pain no gain,’ push through and just get it done, but something doesn’t settle about that.” I thought it was important to share here. So for all those who have ever wondered the same thing, (drum roll) the answer is Proper form! Proper form helps you workout more efficiently, when you loose form you start to use your energy on wasted movements instead of the targeted muscle and function. You are also at higher risk of injury. 😯 Muscle fatigue is when the force behind your muscles decrease which is your bodies way of telling you your limits. The better the form, the better the results. Lift more, run faster and jump higher. I give my clients the difficult exercise as well as an easier version when I know we’re pushing limits. That way if they feel their form going, they can adjust but we can continue to progress and push past barriers. Changing to the “easier” exercise can be a hit to some people’s ego, but hurts way less than a thrown back. There is no gain in that pain.
