1 cup Baking soda
1 cup Citric acid can use
1cup of cream of tartar & 1/2 cup of cornstarch instead
1 cup of salt (Epsom salts, sea salt, or non-iodized table salt)
Cake flavouring essence of your choice
1 tablespoon of oil - veg oil almond oil grapeseed oil coconut oil or olive oil
Food dye of your choice
Hundreds and thousands sprinkles
Silicon moulds or plastic mould, ice cube tray will be just fine to
Start by using a large mesh strainer to sift the baking soda into a large bowl and use a spoon to break up any clumps.
It’s time to mix. Place the 1 cup of citric acid or 1 cup of baking soda, 1 cup of cream of tartar, 1 cup of cornstarch
1 cup of salt into a glass or metal bowl. Don’t use a plastic bowl or aluminum bowl as oils can often react to the mixture and not be effective. Whisk the dry ingredients together.
Add the essential oil, cooking oil or oil of your choice, 2 drops of food colouring, cake flavouring, glitter & sprinkles and stir
Grab a mold to place your mixture in, add 2 tsp of water and stir at this point it might fizz up and your see a reaction
add it to the mold to help compact it into shape. Once this is done, let the mold sit for a few hours in the fridge then take from fridge and leave over night.
After letting your mold settle, it is ready to use. Whether you use this yourself or utilize these DIY bath bombs for kids, you’re sure to enjoy all the fun and relaxation of a bath bomb without the box store price tag.
