"Salute Them Sunday" | For today's #KindnessBeatsTheVirus
challenge from @nycthrive
, I'm saluting the frontline hospital workers closest to me on behalf of all their colleague #HeroHealers
: my sisters / nurses Mei-Ling Valenti and Taina Del Rio, and friends who are family Dr. Pierre Arty, Nurse Elsa Carlo Tabaee, and Dr. Abtin Tabaee. Scroll ➡️ for photos. [None of the photos were taken during #socialdistancing
In a pandemic, every person who walks into the hospital might carry the contagion that would aim to kill those who live to serve. They love anyway. They bring comfort and treat symptoms and search for answers. They make assessments and combat pain and cultivate healing. They minimize suffering and discover treatments and put their lives on the line everyday that others may live.
Never before has a single enemy galvanized the world like #covid19
. Our health care professionals are our frontline warriors in the fight of our lifetimes. They rise each day, however weary and spent, and show up anyway. Their tenacity and courage should inspire all of us.
Thank you for loving. Thank you for serving. Thank you for embodying these timeless words: "The meaning of life is to find your gift. The purpose of life is to give it away" (Shakespeare).
challenge: salute essential workers today. Who are the doctors, nurses, hospital workers, uniformed officers, EMTs, grocers, delivery personnel, mail carriers, cashiers and others in your life that cannot stay home during the quarantine?
Post a photo, video, or any image that celebrates them; honor them in your caption; and tag #KindnessBeatsTheVirus
Stay home, healthy, and safe. AND help kindness go viral during the #Coronovirus #covid19
