This selfless child clearly has a heart of gold but I find it rather worrying that this shelter decided to go public with his letter, which is now in the hands of the world’s media.
I mean if the dad is abusive, then what is he going to do to his child and his wife when he finds out what they did, which is now inevitable seeing as the story is everywhere?
They most likely told him that the puppy he planned on selling ran away but this shelter’s actions have now ensured he’ll discover the truth and who knows what the consequences may be. Surely some discretion and common sense wouldn’t have gone amiss here given that they received a letter about abuse in the home where the child specifically said they were giving the dog to the shelter to HIDE him from the dad but I digress. Story below:
A 12-year-old boy left his beloved #puppy
outside a #shelter
with a stuffed #animal
and heartbreaking note describing his father’s abuse.
The note read: ‘My name is Andrés and I am 12 years old. My mom and I decided to leave my #dog
in your hands, hiding it from my dad because he is thinking about selling him. But he mistreats and kicks him. One day he kicked him so hard that he hurt his tail. I hope you can help and take care of him. I left him a stuffed animal so he won’t forget me’
group have said they have since taken the puppy, called Rene, in and they are evaluating him for a possible tail fracture. More than 300 people have requested to #adopt
him since his story was shared. Swipe for an adorable photo of Rene with his beloved teddy. #AdoptDontShop
